We Did It!

We released all contingencies today on the house and those beautiful 4.7 acres. We are set to close on April 5th. You all know how long this moment has been in the making. We put our Port Townsend home on the market in March of 2008. We've been on a wild odyssey since then trying to find a place to call home.

Now we have this
in our future, where we saw the heron take off, and the red-shouldered hawk circle and call out.

And we have this:

and this too:

It's all more splendid and beautiful than we had ever hoped. We're not even sure what to do with such grandness, but it will be our life's work to figure that out!

Yes, we are now doing our happy dance. You can all uncross your fingers and toes, and everything else you've had crossed for us. Thanks to all of you, it worked. We found a home.

YEA!!!!!!!

Congratulations! The property is beautiful beyond what I imagined. Oh, happy, happy day!

As I looked at the photos, the thought occurred to me that the previous owners probably loved their spot very much and must be happy to know that it's being bought by folks who love it as passionately as they did.

I look forward to all your tales and photos as you and the land become entwined. Again, a heartfelt congratulations. One last move, guys, and you're home for life!

It's perfect! It's you!

That first photo; I don't know how to express it ... it's a place you can be and do and dream, a place for friends or to sit quietly alone, except for the wild things.

Lovely!

Fantastic! Can't wait to hear all the stories.

What town is it in?

The address is in Grass Valley, but it's outside the city limits by about eight miles. It's got a lot of water, which is most important to us. We're pretty happy about it.

I hardly need say it, but we here at the R. House are so very happy for you two. It does look like a perfect spot for the two of you. Can't wait for you to move in and make it your own.

I'm doing the happy dance, too!

Amen, it was hard to get those crossed toes into shoes.
Happy dancing here also and what a pearl you found. I love it.
You guys went through a virtual gauntlet to get there but was it worth it.
Keep the pictures and descriptions coming.

I had to Google the map but it seems you can hop onto I-80 and get to civilization in an hour or so if you really need to! Enhorabuena.

OMG just look at it. This is beyond happy-dance territory, it's Triumphal Dancing. You climb on a table and sing

'Shake it up baby (shake it up baby)
Twist and shout
Come on come on baby (come on baby)
Work it on out

Daaaaaa
Daaaaaaa
Daaaaaa
Daaaaaaaaa
Eeeeeeeeeeeooooooooooooooooooo

(oh oops. that's an orca call.)

So good to hear.

Just clicked on that first photo. You have a Bridge. Oh I am so envious. In a well-ordered universe I would have a small bridge, very nearby...
