A precious little grandson!! Hope you have a great time on the road!!
Such a sweet portrait of Roger and Ian!Wonderful to know that Ian is spending his first days near the ocean, with its shimmering light and sublime sunsets. I know you'll enjoy your time by the ocean.
Roger seems quite competent in handling that little one. Such a sweet photograph that will become (actually already is) a treasure. I'm glad you are at the ocean right now. I think you both need it. And a new grandson? Priceless!
Sylvia-- Thank you! am-- We are now at my mom's in southern California. Heading back to the beach later in the week. It's been good for us to be on the road.NCmountainwoman--We are glad to be away from home right now, meeting our new grandson, seeing the ocean, and visiting my mom.
It's always a good thing to chronicle family history with photographs and this is a great one. I failed a photography class when I submitted photo after photo that I took looking into the sun. The teacher said it was a cardinal rule and should never be broken. I told him the photo I first submitted was a great photo (of surfers) and that fact should negate the rule. He said it didn't and gave me an F on that assignment. For the rest of the semester EVERY photo I turned in was taken into the sunlight. Some, were taken DIRECTLY at the sun. I was proud to take my F. What a stupid rule!
Safe travels to you both!
Pat-- There was just something about those paddle boarders in the bright shimmering light of the bay that called out for a photo. Teachers don't know everything!kenju-- Thank you.
You have a few good reasons to be on the road, one very new with much promise, the other not so new but of promises realized. (Sunny warm weather for travel along the central coast, rain is holding off til next Wed)
Is the sunset photo at the old beach homestead? Ian sure is a cutie!Hope all is well with your mom.
Look at that old man holding that little baby! I think Roger looks a little like me, so he can't be that old.I like the paddle boarders, too.
lindaj-- We're glad to be visiting with my mom right now. It's warm and dry and southern California. We plan to be home before the rains.kathy a-- Yes, that's the old family beach house. Love those sunsets there. Ian is adorable, and as his mom says, so calm and peaceful. My mom is doing well, thank you!mark p-- Roger is going to be 72 on his next birthday. He really looks GREAT. I think I saw a pic of you on the blog a while back, and I thought you and Roger looked alike. Glad you like the paddle boarders. it was a very bright moment!
Wow, you can feel the bond in that first pic. The paddle boarders look other worldly and that sunset just oozes warmth and peace.
What a cutie-pie. (And the baby as well!) Ah, Santa Cruz, always tugging at my heart strings. Hope you've had a fun, therapeutic ramble.
Arkansas Patti-- That first pic was such a sweet moment. The sights at the beach always thrill us!Annie-- We love Santa Cruz too. If it weren't so crowded, expensive, and running out of water, we might consider living there again. We had a wonderful journey. Yes, a therapeutic ramble.
