Our Thanks

All of the kind words you left for us about Bonsai have been like a balm for our broken hearts. We thank you for your thoughtfulness and commiseration.

We have been waiting for the first daffodils to bloom here. Thursday morning we looked out the window and saw these beautiful yellow flowers. Life goes on. Life goes on. Sigh.

  1. The hurt doesn't go away as soon as we would like, but the love you had for your wonderful kitty will always be there to comfort the loss with lovely memories. I sometimes think that my memories of Sam Schnauzer are what get me from day to day and they do help to fill the hole his death left in my life. Sending lots of love and good thoughts to you both, Robin!!

  2. Your daffodils are little miracles affirming life. It does go on, but it never quite fills the holes left when we lose a loved housemate. I'm sorry for your loss.

  3. It's tough to lose them even when it's old age-- even when we know there is no choice for it for the sake of the animal. You are bound to hurt and miss Bonsai a long time. I still can cry over Pepper's death in November. It's just tough. I do though see the happiness the new kitty, Raven, has brought to our home and she'd never have known this life had Pepper not died. So life does indeed go on and eventually we all end up facing the same end-- with or without dignity.

  4. For weeks after the death of one of my dogs, I'd feel bad about enjoying a beautiful day and miss that dog all the more. Then I have to remind myself about where we come from and where we go, that all living things transform, however long it takes, into the very things that I find so beautiful: The wind, the clouds, grasses, rain, flowers and trees...and on and one. When we ourselves die, we'll be reunited with every being and beauty we loved.
