Blue

We've been home for five days. The skies have been clear. I think I'll type that again: The skies have been clear. The blue seeps into everything. Happy April!

  2. Beautiful! Not sure if I have ever been in Humboldt County in April. Maybe once in 1973. I remember going to Patrick's Point and climbing on Wedding Rock with my sister and her friends who were attending Humboldt State University at the time.

It's been clear here, too. Love seeing the stars and the moon at 5 a.m. in the eastern sky, hearing the spring sounds of frogs and the birds

    Happy April!

Pablo-- Well...these photos are from the last week of March and April has begun very very gray.

  5. Oh, my! So beautiful. The last photo draws me in so I almost feel like I'm there.
Alas, here it's in the mid-60s now with snow predicted Saturday night into Sunday. I know the peepers will be okay, but I still worry about them.

  8. CCorax-- Really glad you liked these photos. It was so incredibly calm out there at the marsh, where it's usually quite windy, it made the blue stillness even more interesting. Sure hope the snow doesn't last long.

Arkansas Patti-- Thank you. We really needed that calm blue day.

Nora-- Thank you. Hope you have a great weekend too.

  11. When blue seeps in, spirit rise. Unfortunately grey is creeping in here in Maine. There are streaks of blue though that hold promises fo blue in our future.

  12. I’ve been so busy out enjoying the sunshine that I just now got around to visiting your site, robin. Enjoy. We’re expecting rain tonight and for the next few days.

  13. MRMacrum-- Yes, blue does seem to make the spirit rise, especially after the long gray winter. Hope your skies brighten.

Loren-- We had a nice walk today and are expecting temps in the 70s by Wednesday. Wow! That is really going to feel crazy hot. Hope your rains only last a short while, and you get back out photographing all the beauty you see.

  14. well, this is why you moved up there. when it's beautiful and clear, it's freaking gorgeous! And when it's cloudy, well, overcast is a bummer anywhere you might be. I'll bet it feels good to be home and off the road. xo

  15. Tara-- It is freaking gorgeous. All this light and ocean and sky. Makes me happy to be here. The cloudy foggy overcast days do stretch on, but it is the coast after all. Yes, we are so happy to be home.
