Very nice & peaceful
The colors are soothing. Do you mind me asking where these were taken?
Yes, indeed! I like the collection of heron-type birds in the second photo. And each creature doubled. If only we were there to feel the sun and breeze on our skin. Tranquility feeds all the sense, doesn't it?
Love these. (BTW, went down an optics rabbit hole last night and read about Fata Morgana, more common in the arctic and antarctic, but possible in your neck of the woods. Was wondering if you knew about or have ever noticed this particular optic phenom.)
Bill-- Yes!Colette-- These were taken at the Arcata Marsh. It was calm and warm, pretty unusual for Arcata!CCorax-- A Great Egret, Snowy Egret and Blue Heron and their reflections hanging out at the marsh. Yes, all the senses.Sharon-- Glad it translates in photos.Jennifer-- Here's a link to a blogpost from 2014. I may have even photographed a Fata Morgana. I keep my eye on the bay here, looking towards the bridges to Eureka, hoping to spot something fantastic!http://newdharmabums.blogspot.com/2014/11/something-new.html
Robin, these images are just beautiful. I love the reflections in the water and the softness of the birds, both of which contribute to the serenity in these photos. So peaceful.
The very definition of serenity.

Looks like my morning Tai Chi class.
Ah, I feel better now. Loved the bird in flight reflection.
So lovely. I always feel better after visiting you two! xxxooo
I thought three herons in one image (Image #2) was so cool--until I scrolled down and saw beaucoup herons! They're even more cool (or, is that "cooler"?).
Loren-- Sounds like a wonderful Tai Chi class.Arkansas Patti-- Yes, so glad to share this tranquility (especially in these crazed political times.) I love that egret in flight too.MandT-- Thank you for that.Scott-- There are a lot of egrets in these photos. They are so photogenic. Glad you liked the pics.
Tranquil is definitely the right word. Such calm, still water with perfect reflections. I loved them all.
Wow! The egret in flight and reflection. Poetry.
NCmountainwoman- So glad you liked them. Thank you!am-- Love the word poetry. Thank you for that.
So beautiful and peaceful!I wish I could be there...
What a lovely snippet of nature, even though the power lines run overhead! Good capture!
sonia-- It's a wonderful place for a walk. You'd love it!Barbara-- The Arcata Marsh is an interesting place. It's where the city has its wastewater treatment plant and wildlife sanctuary. Quite innovative.
