Shades of Blue

Today would have been my father's 98th birthday. It is the day the electors in my country cast their vote for President and Vice President. Is it any wonder that all I see before me are shades of blue? We took a walk out on the north jetty, hadn't been there for almost a year. I was expecting rainbows in the surf like last year, but all I saw were these shades of blue.

  1. Your fathers birthday is always his birthday, and worth celebrating. Especially when there is so much shit that is not worth celebrating. Put your energy towards what you love.

    1. Infrafrenata-- We always remember my dad on his birthday. He was such a kind, good man who died much too young.

  3. Nice surf. I'd like to get to the Coast up here but roads are still dicey.

I will just be glad when the drama of this election is behind us... if it ever is. This is a stressful time for many of us, even without the election aftermath. It's not healthy at all and I take deep breaths and try not to let it get to me. Do something about what we can and let the rest go... or try to.

    1. Rain-- We're pretty close to the ocean here, so it's an easy drive. It does help to balance what's coming.

  4. Blue is my favourite colour. And my life would be bliss, absolute bliss, if we lived near an ocean. Thank you for this wonderful image.

  5. What an unsettled looking ocean---kind of like our country. I always found even an angry sea a calming one for me. So glad you are so close.
I remember my Dad's birthday also. We daughters never forget.

    1. Patti-- It was quite an unsettled ocean. In fact, a little later in the day there was "sneaker wave" warnings. It's a bit unnerving walking out on the jetty when the waves are that wild. So true, "we daughters never forget."
