Ring Necked Dove. I love seeing them
Bill-- We see them in our yard, on the roof, on the wires, and in the trees often.
Sweet. Nice composition, too.
Colette-- Thank you.
I keep changing my mind about how to label the arc of white behind the dove's head. I like to think it's a working class dove, out having a ciggy on its coffee break--you see the smoke trailing away. It may be an usual way to think about these birds associated with peace and purity, but, really, should we be pigeon-holing doves?
CCorax-- I didn't even really notice the arc of white behind the dove's head until you mentioned it. I like your interpretation very much. You have a wonderfully funny imagination!
Lovely bird, nice capture.Take care.Robin
Robin-- Thank you.
Thank you for this dove moment this morning. Conscious contact between you and the dove.
am-- You are so welcome. I really appreciated that the dove came to sit on the new gate.
That one is suitable for framing. Lovely shot of one of my favorite birds. Well done.
Patti-- I'm so glad you liked this photo. The dove wasn't there very long, and I took the pic through the window.
Lovely dove and beautiful photo, Robin Andrea!
sonia-- Thank you so much!
sweet little scene there, Robin.
Tara-- I loved that the dove found the new gate and flew to it like it had always been there for it.
Doves are always nice to see. When I lived in the city, they hung out in my yard. I don't see them, too much, in the country, but I hear them. They always sound so neat.
OWL!! It's so good to hear from you. Glad you like the doves too. They do have a lovely song.
