Almost Wordless Wednesday: Floating in Air

It looked like this, but I wasn't sure I could capture the sense of this tower floating in air. It was a beautiful illusion.
Do you see it too?

    1. Patti-- I wasn't sure I could actually convey what it looked like. It was quite an illusion in real time.

  5. Gosh, I'm way behind. I read the post about your father the day you posted it and ended up with tears in my eyes...at work. I totally missed the Earth from the moon post--I do love the dialogue you excerpted! And yes, absolutely, that tower looks as though it is floating! I kind of feel myself wanting to lift up as I look at it, it so so impossible and wonderful in its impossibility.

    1. CCorax-- When I posted the photo of the Earthrise I had no idea that photo was also going to be all over the internet everywhere. It surprised me! Nova did a special last night on that mission. What a time! We loved looking at the tower as it floated above the tidal pond. Quite a moment.

  6. Hmm, I'm just wondering if it flew up. Or down. What dimension am I looking at there? Recently I learned the word "tardis" and have since used it in a dinner table conversation. I wonder if this is an example of tardis: bigger on the inside than the outside. Wait! Did I just hear the the theme music from "The Twilight Zone"? I think I'll go lie down now.

    1. Catalyst-- You made us laugh out loud. I never heard the word "tardis" before. I think it does work for this illusion. Maybe it's not an illusion at all!
