Out
for our first walk of the day, looking south a half hour after sunrise.
The low radiation fog just coming up from the rain soaked pasture. A
truck zooms on the two lane road between us and the bay and the
mountains and the sky. An ordinary day begins.
A little photographic haiku. Just the sort of fog we get over the Fens at this time of year - no mountains in the background though!
ReplyDeleteJohn-- I like knowing this is like the fens there.
DeleteI'm glad you told me about the truck...then I started seeing more things in the distance...it's as if the fog is clearing away as I look at it!
ReplyDeleteBarbara-- Yes! It was a moment of many layers. We loved it.
DeletePeaceful. Even with the truck.
ReplyDeleteSharon-- Yes!
DeleteFeels like fall. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteLinda-- I love the light of fall.
DeleteAwesome photo with the fog.
ReplyDeleteRed-- So glad you liked it!
DeleteAtmospheric!
ReplyDeleteSteve-- I thought so too.
DeleteNice shot. I sort of like how a fog softens the world if only for a little while.
ReplyDeletePatti-- Yes, that low radiation fog softens the world for a moment.
DeleteIt looks cool. I can almost feel it. We have had record heat here. Our thermometer showed 102 on Tuesday. Here it feels like we will never have cool weather or rain again. We are supposed to have a little cooler weather for a couple of days, then back up into the 90s.
ReplyDeleteMark-- That's so hot. I find it unbearable if the temps get above 75. Well, maybe I could almost put up with 80! We had a downpour yesterday that was utterly torrential. Two inches of rain in a half hour. It was wild!
DeleteGracias. This photo of yours, especially, evokes for me a place and mood and lived experience that is timeless and dear to my heart. There is something exquisite about an ordinary morning in that particular latitude of the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Simply joys abound.
ReplyDeleteam-- Yes, there is something about an ordinary moment like this here on the north coast.
DeleteNo Wordless from me this week I went off for a few days. You got a mention of sorts on Skywatch as I know you can name the clouds I photographed. Took some early morning mist photos myself when I was away.
ReplyDeleteBilly-- I can name some clouds, but I tend to rely on The Cloud Appreciation Society to enlighten me!
DeletePretty shot. I like the water droplets on the fence line. Your weather looks refreshingly cool. Too hot down here in S CA.
ReplyDeleteSPandP-- It is refreshingly cool here. It's one of the reasons we came to Humboldt County. Glad you liked the photo. Thank you!
DeleteGood morning, friend.
ReplyDelete37paddington-- Good morning to you, friend.
DeleteThe truck appearing out of the fog - mystery abounds.
ReplyDeleteCatalyst-- Ah, life at the coast.
