Sometimes the halo is perfect, as round as the sun, with the clouds radiating outward like rays. Just a brief moment of zen in an otherwise chaotic world of madmen, viruses, and debates that we don't watch.
So nice to see a real halo, makes me wonder why old paintings put one on people who were special. Does nature's halo mean anything spiritual? A blessed chimney?
Barbara-- Wow, I never even thought about a halo in a spiritual sense. Nature's halo is a confluence of light, ice crystals, and the moment. Spiritual halos are perhaps a moment of enlightenment? Mmm?
Hey, Robin, check this out: https://birdsofchicago.bandcamp.com/ Some of the best "traditional independent alternative retrospective acoustic standing-still dance music" I've heard in a while.
John-- I will check it out as soon as my computer lets me have sound. EVERY morning the sound on my computer goes dead. It's a fairly new MacBook, so I think it's probably my bad computer juju.
Awesome photo. I'm not sure if we've reached a crossroads in this crazy world but sooner or later a choice is going to have to be made. We go into the madness permanently or things turn around.
Nature always offers us the best solutions to our problems, just as it gives us the best aspects to observe during turmoil. I see this halo as a savior in our current mad situation. You have captured a beautiful moment and shared here. You have an eye for refined detail, Robin.
Yes. Things are very crazy - in all spheres of life it seems. Not much respite anywhere, except in moments like this.
ReplyDeleteDr Michelle-- It's the only balance we have these days.
DeleteMaybe the madmen will catch the virus and the debate will be won.
ReplyDeleteJohn-- You made us laugh. Yes, such a wonderful hope to hold on to!
DeleteI admit to thinking about this possibility too.
DeleteIt’s perfect.
ReplyDeleteSharon-- The ice crystals in the sky and I thank you!
DeleteLove your halo, I never seem to see one.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I missed the debates? Fancy that. Probably because it was deliberate.
Patti-- Run outside at any hint of light clouds around the sun. The magic is there! Even just reading about the debates drives me crazy.

ReplyDeleteRed-- Glad you liked the photo. Sure hope we turn things around. These times we are living in are getting to be pretty scary.
DeleteHalo around the Chimney nicely captured
ReplyDeleteBilly-- Glad you liked it.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteSteve-- The sky gods and I thank you!
DeleteYou and your camera and the sky make visual poetry together. A welcome respite from the cacophony of the political world.
ReplyDeleteam-- "Visual poetry"... I love that perspective. Than you so much for that.
DeleteCatalyst-- Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo.

R'sRue-- Thank you.
DeleteJust keep lookin' up, my friend. You are always finding marvels in the heavens, and we are the lucky recipients of that.
ReplyDeleteTara-- You know me, I'm always running outside to take a look.
DeleteAmazing, Robin. You find more in the sky than we find and we appreciate your sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteNCmountainwoman-- The sky is my favorite balance to the madness of the times we are living in.
DeleteIf we thought things were bad enough in the months previous, now March madness is here in more ways than imaginable, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice-- Yes, March madness. That sums it up perfectly.
