Friday Music: Two Songs

We thought it would be fun to post two songs. The first we've all heard many times and many covers. My twin brother sent us this link, and we fell in love with it. The music is beautiful, the violins tug at our hearts. In this time of sheltering in place, it's the perfect song for the moment. The second is a very short funny song that my sister sent us. It really made us laugh. A good balance in these times. Hope all is well for you. Take care, stay safe and healthy, dear friends.

  1. Wow, that first song is beautiful. That second one is great. He's done a few more which are on You Tube.

  2. I think on balance I prefer His Royal Bobness singing the first one, though I'm certainly going to give Roo Panes' albums a listen too. For some reason I found myself singing "Sharona" every time I heard them mention the virus. Thanks for posting both songs.

    1. Thea Gilmore is one of those singers who has been on the edge of greatness for about twenty years! Being a great singer, writing great songs, covering great songs and tackling a wide variety of styles doesn't guarantee fame.

  5. This is really a time when we all need shelter from the storm. Lovely song.
And to balance it out we had some humor. I laughed out loud when he touched his face. I do that all-the-time. We do need to laugh now more than ever. Thanks.

  8. I've urged people to laugh at your sainted president because we know it's what he really hates. Laughing at The Plague requires deep thought but it's a possibility. Chris Mann has chosen to target the paranoia that attaches itself to such a menace, and he makes it do a job for him. Sings a song about paranoia in a paranoid style. As someone who has tried to match words to music (and mostly failed) I admire the way he increases the musical potential of the refrain by adding "My" to "Corona"; he certainly understands how lyrics work.
