Friday Music: Glory

A friend posted this on Facebook and the moment I listened I fell in love with it. The harmonies are beautiful and the sentiment so uplifting. It is a spiritual song, which is quite unlike anything I am drawn to. It is the perfect song to listen to in these times.

Told me rivers of gold would come
Had me chasing to see
I was kissing my only one
Left my pain with the breeze
I rise up in the morning sun
Take a flight with the wind
I know better of days will come
So I try to believe
Look there's more to be hoping
And there's doors to be opened and I
When it's all said and over
They'll be oceans to wonder for miles
Passed the clouds and the coldness
They'll be flowers and roses so
Keep your head up you’re coping
And it feels like Glory lord
Glory lord
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like glory lord
Told me rivers of gold would come
Had me chasing to see
I was kissing my only one
Left my pain with the breeze
I rise up in the morning sun
Take a flight with the wind
I know better of days will come
So I try to believe
Look there's more to be hoping
And there's doors to be opened and I
When it's all said and over
They'll be oceans to wonder for miles
Passed the clouds and the coldness
They'll be flowers and roses so
Keep your head up you’re coping
And it feels like Glory lord
Glory lord
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like glory lord
Look there's more to be hoping
And there's doors to be opened and I
When it's all said and over
They'll be oceans to wonder for miles
Passed the clouds and the coldness
They'll be flowers and roses so
Keep your head up you’re coping
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like
It's in your heart now let them now this
It's in your heart now
And it feels like glory lord

  1. Beautiful and uplifting. 'Spirituality' and 'religiosity' aren't confined to organised religion or churches. I consider myself very spititually oriented but I don't follow any dogma.

    1. Dr Michelle-- I love your perspective. Yes, spiritual but not religious. I could definitely identify myself with that view.

  3. It is times like these when hope is hard to come by that a lovely song like this strikes a nerve deep inside us, nourishing the beliefs that we can do better, we will do better and we
can save this beautiful planet. We can wrest our earth and the lives of people from the wills of greedy souls and a madman.

  6. I don't know why but over the last few months I find myself listening to many kinds of music that I wouldn't normally like. Strange days indeed.

    1. John-- Quiet times during a pandemic we fill with music. It's good to find new stuff and be lifted by the beauty.

  7. Thanks so much for the beautiful song Robin.....we're cosy up here, with a fire in the wood stove and a mighty storm outside....thinking of you so very often through this terrifying time....may it somehow be over by midnight on November 3.

    1. John-- I'm so glad that you liked this song. We're expecting rain tonight and tomorrow, and we are so glad for that. We have the windows open and the clean air is filling the house. The smoke has cleared and our air is good. Yay. We are waiting for real election results after the polls close and hoping for the best outcome. Wild times, John, wild times. And we haven't even mentioned the pandemic. Wild times.
