I had a blog post planned for today, but for some reason I can't get it to publish. It says it is published even when it is not. Mmm? I've been having some issues with blogger, and I'm not quite sure how to resolve them. Even when I'm logged into blogger, it doesn't show me logged here on Dharma Bums or any other blogger site. When I go to leave a comment on other blogs, it doesn't show me logged it, it just says Google Account, but when I hit publish it shows my name. This has been happening for several days now. I'm learning that it has something to do with Cross-site cookies, which I had never heard of before this. Are any of you having similar problems?
So, instead of the post I had planned, I'm going to show you the beautiful corona we saw on Monday. The skies have been a deep blue with lovely cloud formations. And for a very short time it showed us this Corona. I was so happy about that. So, I'm sharing it with you. And for some reason, this blog post published. Mmm?
Nice to hear the word corona used in a good way again!
ReplyDeleteCarruthers-- Now I'm wondering what the bad way is to use corona. Mmm?
DeleteLovely to see the colors spreading from the sun! Blogger started doing something when I put dates in to publish in the future...it then wouldn't let me change the dates when I wanted to...so I've had to delete the originals and copy/paste into newer dates. I've left things in draft form in order to avoid that. I haven't had trouble publishing yet though.
ReplyDeleteBarbara-- What I noticed is that blogger changed when I went to a blogging site that was marked unsafe. I immediately left it, but that's when blogger stopped showing me logged in. I think if I enable cross-site tracking, it will show me logged in again, but I don't want to do that. Oh well.
DeleteSo far it hasn't happened to me. Fingers crossed that it doesn't. I have really weak geek powers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Corona framed by the blue sky.
Patti-- I'm hoping it doesn't happen to you. It's not fun at all.
DeleteGlad you liked the corona!
I, intermittently, have not been able to post comments on my friends blogs. As I type this I have no guarantee that it will show up. Frustrating.
ReplyDeleteLinda-- Your comment posted. Yay!!
DeleteSo pretty! Can't say I've had any publishing issues - because I haven't written anything lately. oops
ReplyDeleteSharon-- I always love when atmospheric optics like this show up. Hope you don't have any publishing issues when you do put up a post!
DeleteNice sky photos, as always. Very strange re. your Blogger problems. Have you tried clearing your cookies? You could then go to your list of posts, revert to draft on the "published" (but not published) one, and then re-publish it and see if it works. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteSteve-- So glad you liked the sky photos. My settings are to clear cookies whenever I close Firefox. The issue with the publishing was that I had as a draft, but when I went to publish it, it showed published but wasn't on the blog. It was weird.
DeleteVery weird! Can you cut and paste the post content into a new post, and at least save all your work that way?
DeleteSteve-- I've thought about doing that, but I'm a little paranoid about it all. I'm giving it a few days to see how it works out. I've noticed that there are some blogs I go to that have a little symbol in the address line that says Cross-tracking is on. On those blogs I am signed in. It's so weird. I also think it may have something to do with the latest version of Firefox that I downloaded on the day all of this started. Ugh.
DeleteI will just enjoy the lovely corona as I know nothing about Blogger! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteEllenD-- Yes, enjoying the corona is way better than dealing with Blogger!
DeleteI've not been having any problems. lovely corona. you get those a lot. I hardly ever see any. aren't they also called sundogs?
ReplyDeleteellen-- Really glad you are not having blogger problems. Sundogs are part of 22 degree halo. Here is a link to a description of coronas:
Deletehttps://www.atoptics.co.uk/droplets/corona.htm
If you search that site you'll also find a lot of info on sundogs.
I shall have to remember not to touch anything on Blogger as it's working OK for me at the moment - so far. I don't know anything about cross-eyed cookies!
ReplyDeleteJohn-- Good idea. The cross-eyed cookies are always lurking, looking all googly-eyed for a way in! Thank you for the much-need laugh.
DeleteHmmm ... I wonder what's going on. No problems that I know of here with Blogger but something odd just happened here where my Favorites Bar was not visible when I opened a new window. I closed the weird window and that seems to be the end of that.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful that your post with the coronas was published. We haven't seen much blue sky here, and it is a joy to see your blue sky. When the sky is blue, I am always on the lookout for coronas now. Thank you!
am-- I went to a site that had enabled cross-site tracking and was briefly marked unsafe. For some reason it somehow made Firefox act strangely. It still shows me as not logged in.
DeleteSo glad you liked the corona photo. The blue skies have been so beautiful here.
I am glad this post got published!
ReplyDeleteSabine-- Me too! Thank you.
DeleteI hope you et this problem sorted out. don't send it to me. For being cheeky I'll probably get the problem.
ReplyDeleteRed-- I hope we get it sorted as well. And I really hope you don't get the problem. Keep me posted!
DeleteProof that it pays to complain! Wow, that corona is bright. Better put on my shades. 😎
ReplyDeleteCatalyst-- I am still having trouble with blogger. I have no idea how to make it work anymore. But at least I can post photos of bright coronas!
DeleteSimply beautiful. I hope your blogger woes get solved.
ReplyDelete37paddington-- Glad you liked the Corona! I think I figured out what's going on with blogger. I updated Firefox and it seems to be overly strict about cross-site cookies. I'm learning to live with it.
DeleteThis was a lovely sky view, Robin. Blogger does seem to have issues from time to time. A while back, I switched to Firefox and was having more issues and some were in using blogger. I have since removed that browser and reverted to Safari and all seems to be ok (for now).
ReplyDeleteBeatrice-- What I have discovered, so far, is that if I enable cross-site cookies and tracking, blogger works just fine. There are some blogs I go to that show me logged in, while my own blog does not. I am assuming those blogs have enable cross-site tracking on their browser. Do you know if you have enabled that, because you blog is one that shows me logged in. Mmmm? Glad you like the sky view!
