The weather has been so crazy sunny warm and beautiful we just had to go for a walk at the beach. So we drove up to Trinidad Harbor and breathed in the sea air, enjoyed the blue blue sky, and got mesmerized a bit by the colors of the rocks there.
Those colors are so beautiful and vivid I'm not sure I captured what it really looks like out there.
We've been listening to a song lately that my twin brother sent us a link to. It's one of the reasons we went to the beach. The song is called Wash Away.
You are so lucky going to a beach that is not crowded like they would be here on a nice day. Water is very mesmerizing, you stand staring at it for ages.
ReplyDeleteBilly-- We live in a very un-populated county in Northern California. The beaches here are pretty quiet. On weekends there are more people, but it's never a lot.
DeleteSo happy to know you and Roger went to Trinidad Harbor. Such a beautiful place to see the ocean. For me, just looking at these photos is like being there. All my senses remember everything.
ReplyDeleteThank you and your twin for the peaceful voice and guitar. A sea of calmness.
am-- Roger and I realized yesterday that we should go to the beach much more often. It really is beautiful. So glad you liked that song. It is such a lovely piece of music.
DeleteWow, those huge rocks and the crash of the waves had to mellow you out. If that didn't do it, the song did. Envy your walk on the beach.
ReplyDeletePatti-- Those crashing waves definitely mellowed us out. So did the music. A perfect combination.
DeleteWhat a lovely place.
ReplyDelete37paddington-- It really is beautiful there. We love it.
DeleteEven an old prairie boy like me likes a good beach walk. I did live on an arctic beach for two years and yes I did walk on the beach.
ReplyDeleteRed-- Whenever you can stand where the land meets the sea is a grand place to be.
DeleteHow beautiful. Those really are amazing colors in the rocks -- especially against that blue, blue sky!
ReplyDeleteSteve-- Those rocks really surprised me. We've walked this beach many times, and I don't remember all that color.
DeleteBeautiful pictures. I could use a walk on the beach. Mine isn't nearly so dramatic though, just flat that stretches forever in both directions.
ReplyDeleteellen-- I hope you do get a nice long walk on the beach. It really is restorative in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteNice photos. I also really like the album cover on the music you posted.
ReplyDeleteColette-- Yes! We like that album cover too.
DeleteI enjoyed the music and am seriously jealous of the warm weather. Happy day and may tomorrow be just as warm.
ReplyDeleteLinda-- I was hoping you'd stop by and listen to the music. I thought you might like it. We did have another lovely warm day here, but cooler temps are on their way and the hint of some rain in the forecast. I hope things warm up for you.
DeleteOf course when you lived in WA you must have known about Washaway Beach. Erika Langley's blog documenting what whas happening to the place was alternately tragic(for the humans) and awe-inspiring (for the force of nature).
ReplyDeleteMolleyTrolley-- I didn't know about Washaway Beach blog until now. I just took a look and wow, it's good to see her photos documenting what's happening there. Thank you for commenting and telling us about it.
DeleteBeautiful beach and lovely song Robin. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDr Michelle-- I'm so glad you liked the beach and the song.
DeleteI love that beach. Once when we were spending some time in San Francisco we discovered a bar/restaurant just south, in Pacifica, with a rocky sort of beach outside that had many feral cats roaming the rocks. Looking for seafood, no doubt. I loved that place.
ReplyDeleteCatalyst-- The beaches in the San Francisco and Pacific area are so beautiful. Roger and I used to love driving Highway 1 when we had to head up to the city from Santa Cruz. Trinidad Beach is about 350 miles north of San Francisco. Have you been here? It's so beautiful.
DeleteIt looks like Trinidadian weather at the beach there. I was standing in thick mud beside a sluggish estuary on Friday - that was good too!
ReplyDeleteJohn-- It really was such a warm sunny day especially for February here. We loved it.
DeleteLoved seeing your beach and rocks in color! This is the kind of music I really like. So glad you did walk on the beach...something I miss living in the mountains. But we had a couple of warm days before today going back into winter...but there's spring pushing into being already and I'm so ready for it!
ReplyDeleteBarbara-- Those rock colors really surprised us. I'm so glad you liked the music. My twin brother and I used to go and listen to this musician quite often when we lived in Santa Cruz in 1975-76. He's still making music. I hope you do get a day at the beach soon!
DeleteThat looks lovely, Robin Andrea! I have 2 little visitors here for 2 weeks and it is cold and snowy so we have been stuck inside playing legos, playdoh, games, etc., etc. Fun but very tiring for this old Grandma!
ReplyDeleteEllenD-- Two weeks is a long time to spend with little ones, grandma! They have so much energy. Yes, it's fun and tiring. Take care there.
DeletePhotos of your beach adventure sooth my soul. Very pretty
ReplyDeleteAlly Bean-- I love knowing that these beach photos sooth your soul. Yes! It's why we go.
DeleteBeautiful song. I see why it led you to the ocean's edge. I remember well living on the edge of our massive continent. Most of my life. It's a great feeling of being completely small on the planet and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteTara-- Michael and I used to go hear James Lee Stanley play in small venues in Santa Cruz all the time in 1975-6. We loved his music so much. This song really captures his sound and the pull of the sea. I'm so glad you liked it.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pictures and I bet that your trip was Awesome in real life.
Pretty song.
Have a great day.
Beth-- Hello! So nice of you to stop by and leave a comment. Much appreciated. Glad you liked the photos. It was an awesome little journey. Also glad you liked the song. It's an old-time favorite.
