A Rainbow of Roses

I went out to look at the roses in our front yard the other day and was struck by all their different colors.

Hey, wait a second, this last pic is not of roses. How did you get in here? Sneaky little oriental poppies. LOL!

As the temps warm up for summer here all the flowers are celebrating with their beautiful petal displays of color. We love it.

We hope all is well for you, and we thank you for stopping by.

  1. Quite a flower show! It's been grey with a chilly wind here for the last week and what makes it worse is that most of the country is enjoying warmer sunny weather. It's supposed to be getting warmer leter in the week.

    1. John-- Really glad you like the flower show! We had one day of sunshine here and loved every warm moment of it. It's been a rather bleak "summer" so far. Hope your weather warms up. It's great for walking.

  3. beautiful roses. my dad grew roses and my sister has some but too much shade in my yard for me to have any besides the few knockout roses that were here when we bought the place and they bloom less and less as the big oak tree branches get longer and create more shade.

    1. ellen-- I thought of you when I posted these photos. You show us such lovely blooms in your beautiful yard there. My parents were very much in love with roses. Growing them has become a tradition in our family.

    1. Bill-- I thought of you when I posted these rose photos. Your flower garden is always so beautiful. I just went out into the yard to see if the roses were fragrant. I was so surprised... they aren't fragrant at all!

    1. EllenD-- I'm glad it's a good year for roses where you are too. They are so beautiful, even if they are very thorny. Yes, all is well here, and we are happy. We'd be happier if it were warmer and sunnier!

  7. Your roses are so colorful and look healthy. You must be doing something right, especially so if some poppies are trying to be part of the action.

  10. I was going to say that I wish you could post the scent, but saw your reply to Billy Blue Eyes. At least I don't have to be jealous about that! Roses are always a feast for the eyes, but the scent--oh the scent!--on a hot summer's day!

    1. CCorax-- I started to wonder if the roses really don't have a sweet scent or if my olfactory sense has withered with age. Actually Roger and I do a bit of teamwork when it comes to senses. In case of fire, I'll smell the smoke, he'll hear the sirens!
